Hello everyone! I’m back with a new blogpost AND a new video, yeah! This time, I made a wreath to decorate my home and wanted to share the process with you. This my first DIY/Craft video, it took me FOREVER to do and there’s is a LOT of mistake in the editing/speech, but well, I’ll do better next time 😀
🍂 Autumn Wreath 🍂
I always found wreaths to be really cool and wanted one for so long, but they are pretty expensive in stores or just not to my taste. This fall, I thought I would give it a try and make one myself! Now, I didn’t make the wreath from scratch because I found one already premade and ready to decorate, but I did craft acorns out of foam eggs, and that’s something 😉
If you want to take a look, here’s the video! Please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel if you enjoy 😊
What do you think? Do you like it?
I have to say, it was quite long to make but I had a LOT of fun! I think it looks pretty good and I’m really happy to see it everytime I come back home. There’s definitely a lot of things that I would have done differentely now that I look back on the video. The lighting (inconsistency between the footage from my video camera and my DSLR), the pace (some parts are really long and I edited out A LOT), the voiceover (things I forgot to mention, weird accent + HUGE mistakes, what was I thinking ? 😝)… but I tried my best and of course there is room for improvement! Next time will be better! By the way, if you have suggestions don’t hesitate to leave a comment!
If you didn’t watch the video, I will roughly tell you how I made the wreath. The main thing that I was missing was the acorns, so, I made them using other things that I already had. I created the fake acorns by painting foam egss in brown, and then gold. For the cap, I used a rope that I wrapped around the top of the ‘acorn’, and secured with hot glue. Seriously, hot glue was my bst friend for this project 😂 For the leaves, I just dry brushed the edges with gold paint. Then, it was time to assemble all the pieces. I started by placing the decorative moss on the wreath, and when i was satisfied with the look of it, I glued down. Same with the leaves and acorns. Finally, I wrapped a piece of jute to the top of the wreath, placed one last acorn, and I was done!
The process was really long and I burned my fingers a few times, but it was worth it, I love it!!
